This gives us an A2 size of 420mm x 594mm. This means that we have to double the side of our new shortest edge, the 297mm edge. Our current A3 sheet measures 297mm x 420mm. You will notice that the edge that was the shortest previously has now become the long edge. Now say for instance we wanted to move up a size to A2. This gives an A3 sheet the flat size equivalent of exactly 2 A4 sheets. So for instance an A4 sheet measures 210mm x 297mm making its shortest edge 210mm long. It does not have the immediacy of pencil and paper, but it is as close as I have seen so far, whilst also leveraging the power of a tablet.Ok that’s great so you know roughly how big an A4 is so what about the rest? Well if you are going up by 1 size from A4 to A3 (The lower the number the larger the sheet) you double the size of the shortest edge. It shows that the Goodnotes team has definitley tried to meld the best of paper and tablet together to make a solid, ease to use product. This is abotu as close as you can get to wrting on paper wiht one of those Bic multi colour selection pens.Ħ) Just an overall level of clean, simple, elegant UI that is easy to navigate and understand. Goodnotes has a more limited colour palatte, but it is easy to use, and facilitates quick switching between nib types and colours. The program I went to has a wonderful plethora of pen nib options and is quite lovely to work with and use - except for the crashing part. One can selecta PDF and open as a stand alone document, or elect to havwe it append to the next page of whichever Goodnotes document you have open. It works really well handling PDFs - especially when incorporating an existing PDF into an existing document. Goodnotes 5 handles multiple tabs seamlessly and elegantly.ģ) PDF Handling. This is a trivial thing to accomplish in a paper field note book with tabs. When I am doing fieldwork I have multiple places where I have to enter data.
